Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate
Does Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate work?
No meaningful testing published; the maker's test had 15 people per group.
The human data for wrinkle reduction are a supplier-run test of a cream in small volunteer groups (15 per arm, by the manufacturer's own brochure) and one peer-reviewed study of a serum that combined this peptide with acetyl hexapeptide-8, so the ingredient's own effect cannot be isolated. No independent trial of the peptide alone has been published. 34
The supplier's brochure describes a 28-day test of a cream with the peptide on the forehead. There were 15 volunteers per group, aged 40 to 60. It reports wrinkle cuts of up to 52% after 28 days. Its chart of the placebo comparison shows smaller gaps, 15% to 21% across three skin-roughness measures. That is company data, not a peer-reviewed study. 4
A 2026 study in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science came from L'Oréal researchers. They tested a serum that combined this peptide with acetyl hexapeptide-8 (another 'neuromuscular' cosmetic peptide), gluconolactone, niacinamide and a seaweed extract. They used an ex vivo skin model and two clinical studies with 50 and 42 volunteers. They reported better clinical wrinkle scores over 12 weeks. Five actives were tested together. So the result does not tell us what this ingredient does alone. 3
