Mazdutide

Is Mazdutide safe?

Phase 3 data; US phase 2 only 179 people

AStrong human evidenceIn clinical trialsas of 2026-10-27

Stomach and gut effects dominate. In GLORY-2, vomiting affected 53 percent of mazdutide patients versus 1 percent on placebo. Nausea was 47 versus 3 percent. Diarrhea was 39 versus 7 percent. Most cases were mild to moderate. 2.9 percent stopped because of adverse events. Heart rate rose by a few beats per minute. That is typical of the class and perhaps greater with glucagon activity. 410 In the US phase 2 trial, 20 percent of the highest-dose group stopped for adverse events, mainly gastrointestinal. 12

Several things are unknown. These include cardiovascular outcomes and long-term safety beyond 60 weeks. They also include effects in non-Chinese populations. And they include what years of glucagon receptor activation will do. Thyroid C-cell findings in rodents apply to the GLP-1 class generally. Gray-market vials add the risk of unknown purity and dose. 25
