Synthetic human secretin is FDA-approved as ChiRhoStim (approved 2004) for three diagnostic uses: stimulating pancreatic secretions to diagnose exocrine pancreatic dysfunction, stimulating gastrin release to diagnose gastrinoma, and helping locate the pancreatic duct during ERCP. It is not approved as a treatment for any condition. 2
