Is Epitalon legal in the US?
No approved product. Since October 2026 a licensed pharmacy may compound the injection under an HHS policy, but it is still unapproved.
Not approved by the FDA for any use and sold as a research chemical. In July 2026 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted, over the objection of FDA staff, to recommend adding epitalon to the list of substances pharmacies may compound. On 28 October 2026 HHS issued an enforcement discretion policy covering injectable epitalon acetate, given in intermittent courses, compounded by licensed pharmacies and physicians for named patients under sourcing, testing, labeling and reporting conditions. That is not an approval. 4101213
No. It is not approved as a drug anywhere. In July 2026 an FDA advisory panel recommended letting pharmacies compound it, against the advice of FDA staff. On 28 October 2026 HHS published an enforcement discretion policy. Under it a licensed pharmacy or doctor may compound injectable epitalon for a named patient, in intermittent courses, if the peptide comes from an FDA-registered maker with a certificate of analysis and side effects are reported. The policy is not an approval and can be withdrawn. 4101213
It is not a federally controlled substance, so having it is not a crime. It is not an approved drug, and selling it for human use breaks the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Vendors sell it labeled for research. Since 28 October 2026 a licensed pharmacy may compound it for a named patient under the HHS enforcement discretion policy. That policy does not cover research-chemical vendors. 8912
