Russian papers report no side effects. But they have no systematic safety checks. The main worry is cancer. A compound that boosts telomerase and the alternative telomere-lengthening pathway could in principle help a new cancer live. No one has tested this in people. Epitalon sold online is unregulated. No one checks its dose, purity or sterility. It is not a federally controlled substance. 5810

The October 2026 HHS policy does not add safety data. HHS said the FDA's cancer concern was mechanistic and that the limited human exposure reported no side effects. Its own text says compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and the FDA does not review their safety before sale. News reports say FDA scientists opposed the policy. 1214
